Firstly, I should note that I took a lactaid to savor this pizza, and it was well worth it. The combination of unexpected flavors on a pizza canvas is a brave departure from the traditional, and General Tao Pizza managed to leave a positive impression.
The pizza leans towards the sweeter side, which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for those with a penchant for unique flavor profiles, it's a delightful departure from the ordinary. The sweetness was reminiscent of the General Tao chicken dish, adding a layer of complexity to the pizza that kept my taste buds guessing.
The crust was a pleasant surprise - perfectly thin and crispy, providing an ideal foundation for the sweet and savory toppings. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, with the sweetness of the sauce playing off against the savory notes from the cheese and other toppings.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 20, 2021
Found out about this place through a featured video on BlogTO. I wanted to try the General Tao Chicken Pizza because when I go to Chinese-American eateries, this chicken is my guilty pleasure. I also love pizza so this dish was perfect. Since we drove all the way here, we decided to try another pizza on the menu as well for the full Martino's Pizza experience.
Right on Dupont, Martino's is accessible by TTC and car. It's a hole in the wall and looks like your typical greasy spoon. The menu is extensive and covers a lot of ground, which is why this place's name includes pizza and Asian fusion. I recall seeing pad Thai on the menu as well, which is so different from pizza.
Genera Tao Chicken Pizza - Loaded with chicken, it's very filling. We ordered a medium size and there were leftovers. As for this being a pizza, the chicken and the sauce were very empowering that I didn't taste the pizza part.
Pizza Quatro Stagioni- This pizza had heaps of vegetables with generous portions of prosciutto. It was good, but nothing out of this world.
Kudos to Martino's for creativity! I don't live near here so I'm not sure if I'll return, but definitely worth checking out once.

Got the General Tao's pizza, which they're known for. Yet, the fact that there are no copycats (as far as I know) suggests this combination doesn't exactly work.
The chicken was pretty good but it was actually sweet & sour (to be fair, it's in the description, but still the name says General Tao), with a vague hint of spiciness. It was crispy & the sauce was pretty good. It was very generously portioned.
The pizza itself was hard to appreciate under the chicken. It seemed serviceable: cheese, pizza sauce, onion & peppers, but the flavour was overwhelmed by the chicken. It was quite crunchy, which isn't something you normally want in a pizza, but here it complemented the crunchy chicken.
Really, the pizza was just a base for the chicken & the whole battered chunks on top made it much harder to eat than a normal pizza. It doesn't exactly work as a dish but if you like General Tao's Chicken and you like pizza, you can kind of kill two birds with one stone by ordering this.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - James J.Toronto, ON0206Feb 7, 2020
$4.75
Margherita slice
Fresh wheel out the oven. Took the first slice. Thin crust. Fair amount of crisp on the bottom. Felt like the top was a little doughy for me.
Cheesy and it's stringy. Sauce seemed a little light, with a bit of tang.
Garlic drizzle was good. The sprinkled oregano you can taste right away in a bite.
Most of the pizza in the surrounding area is "chain"pizza. So I'd back them more due to this.

Thanks to Instagram and someone taking some excellent photos of the General Tao's pizza from Martino's Pizza and Asian Fusion Kitchen, I knew it was destiny to come here and try it for myself. Last weekend my girlfriend and I were in the city for the weekend and made it a point to finally make it out to this place. I'm not sure what I expected, but I definitely didn't expect a typical run of the mill quick pizza place from the outside and it's definitely easily missed if you aren't looking for it. My original goal was to order a pizza from here but after seeing that not only do they offer a General Tao's Pizza but they also offer a General Tao's Calzone and that was something I also needed to try (my girlfriend went with the pizza and I went with the calzone, that way we could each try both). The food didn't take too long to come out and let me tell you, this place really brings something new to the Toronto food scene. The General Tao calzone was incredible and a whole new way to eat one. Basically, it was a calzone with the chicken on the inside and the red sauce in a container (which I put on top and poured all over it). The calzone itself was full of so much unique flavour ghat it was one of the best calzones I've ever had. The pizza was pretty much the same story, it was a pizza covered in general Tao's chicken and blew my taste buds right away, absolutely incredible.
Overall, Martino's Pizza and Asian Fusion Kitchen is a must try place in Toronto. The unique options and incredible food make this place a true hidden gem. I can't wait to check out more from this place in the future!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - J S.Toronto, ON0835Oct 16, 2019
Average thai/chinese food. I think it's more chinese than thai. Pad thai is average, general tao chicken is average, pizza above average.
Large slices and large portions, so make sure your hungry when you order.
Price is above average, but since they're at dupont/davenport, the residents here can definitely afford their price point.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amila S.Waterloo, ON23922Dec 15, 2018
*Only based on the General Tao "chicken" pizza*
All four of us shared a party size pizza, and despite dozens of pieces nicely distributed on the pizza, about 2/40 had traces of chicken.
We all agreed it tasted like old fashioned Timbits dipped in sweet and sour sauce.
I brought it up to the cashier and he seemed dumbfounded. I would have rather openly been told "we don't use chicken".
If a restaurant has a blogTO article written about their General Tao Chicken pizza, at least be stringent with the quality of your ingredients or just call it a General Tao Timbit Pizza.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jesse J.Toronto, ON065Feb 24, 2021
Their pepperoni slice is always there for me in my time of need. Classic New York slice, even better when you ask for chilli flakes on top

This place is loveable and a little weird with its eclectic menu. I have heard of others getting a slice of Kung Pao pizza, and they say it's delicious but I will take their word for it.
I've had some amazing slices here and some not-so-amazing slices, depending on the freshness of how long the pizzas have been sitting for. But a fresh slice is one to remember. I personally like to go with the classics.
It's a tiny little place with bright lights, so I would recommend taking your slice for a stroll in the beautiful Annex area. Relax and enjoy that pizza slice!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
