Centrally located in the NYU area.
Great place to buy some drinking game accessories. Beer pong, beer bongs etc.
Staff is pretty friendly and are constantly saying hi hi hi, I was getting annoyed but at least this place got service.
Wish I was in college again..Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Feb 18, 2012
Seems like this store just sort of popped up here. My husband happened to see it & we decided to browse.
It took us back to those high school/college days & nostalgia was had by all. Decent selection of goods mentioned already & some decent sales (though one tradition that hasn't changed was my husband's feeling that a lot of things there cost too darn much). I don't think I'd buy my sex toys here but you'll get a good laugh from their "over the hill" birthday collection, sexy birthday cards, etc.
I REALLY wished they'd had a shirt that's an essential for traveling in the South in a size S or XS; they only had a medium. I also wish I had some gay male friends to entertain or some dirty minded sorority sisters who live locally so I could have use for a penis shaped cookie cutter.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ron C.Brooklyn, United States137111581998Feb 13, 2012
Yes... This happened. It seems like Middle America has invaded NYC via every White teenage girls store. No, i'm not talking about American Eagle. Spencer's has invaded NYC and it brought all the fake poop, pint glasses, glow in the dark shirts, fat girl Birthday card, 90's style blonde buff guy birthday card, and everyones favorite penis cake molds. I can go on and on about this place...
Spencer's is a mix of the sex shops in the West Village without all the lube, restraints and harnesses. Chinatown goods such as Sesame Street shirts, Scooby Doo hats and obnoxious key chains and wallets. Don't forget the Pint Glasses, flasks and Domo. Just like every Urban Outfitters in the City.
I'll be honest... You can find everything at Spencer's at any other store in the City. Walking inside brought me back to my teen years... You know you wanted to work at Spencer's. It was the coolest place in the mall since Miller's Outpost. Don't know what Miller's Outpost is? Damn your young... It was like Urban Outfitters in the mid 90's.
Anyways.. If you are in desperate need of Bachelorette novelties, Over the hill gags, lava lamps or shot glasses with Papa Smurf and Brainy Smurf. They have a wide range of things here all at good prices. They currently have a 50% off on all winter headwear. So if you are dying to get Yo Gabba Gabba knit hat (like I did). You know where to go!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jay L.Inwood, United States24071691Jul 12, 2015
Spencer stores outside of malls are weird...part goth, part freak show, part party store.
It's rare that I will ever go to a Spencer's but when you have to come up with a clever way to ummm...well get certain adult beverages on a cruise ship without being scolded or stopped, then you have to make a stop here to get clever disguises for those beverages. If you have never taken a cruise and plan on taking one in the near future and you become aware of the rules of cruises then you'll find out why I am saying this in due time without me having to get in depth on why Spencer's is someplace you are going to have to go to for certain items before departing on a cruise excursion.
But also for your theme party needs or just into freakish items, then stop by Spencer's...if not for purchase purposes, at most you'll be somewhat entertained.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - AlmaGrace S.Queens, United States368228200Nov 5, 2011First to Review
I like this store, as an outlet they got from the chain ones that just usually seen in the malls.
Very nice selection of cool paraphernalia's and tee shirts that say funny things. They range from hats to character items that are really nice. I like their selection of lava lamps that are only about 20 bucks and also items that can be used to spoof people.
They carry a wide arrange of jewelries like tongue rings and nose ones. And not to forget also intimate stuff for bedroom pleasures. Which I dont think I'm really that comfortable to talk about in a public review....
Anyways...if you want to learn more then just stop by and visit the store for yourself....toodles.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kimberly G.Brooklyn, United States5872113Dec 18, 2014
I have always been a fan of Spencer's. It is a great place to get a unique item or fun gift. This is a perfect store for college students because it has a lot of dorm-like games and decor. Items range from band tees, lingerie, sex toys, drinking games, lava lamps, funky hats and body jewlery. I like that this store is located close to the subway. If you go to NYU, this is right in your area. I'm always greeted each time I have visit. The items are always well stocked and the employees are friendly. The overall condition of the store is clean. I find the prices to be reasonable as well. No complaints.

i was supposed to only grab a silly Valentine's Day card.
i ended up leaving with:
- bling ribbon necklace
- razor-blade necklace
- plastic mustache necklace
- grenade necklace
- brass knuckle chain
- Domokun furry wallet
- Domokun pink teddy bear plush
- Domokun dinosaur plush
- lace choker
- leaf ashtray
NO card. whoops! i guess i got a little carried away! =)
i grew up in suburbia most of my life in the US. Hot Topic, Miller's Outpost, the arcade, food courts, Orange Julius, fye, Sweet Factory, kiosks, Pacific Sunwear and Spencer's Gifts is what i know. this is where were you go to find stupid bachelorette toys, games, novelties. this is where you shop for your highschool nephew for christmas or a birthday. this is where you go to find that "cheer up" gift for yourself or a friend. this is where you browse around when you're bored and want to find a reason to spend money.
i love Spencer's Gift. corny, cheesy and annoying it may be for some. the staff is young, techy/geeky, funny and really cool/nice to talk to. they were the ones who convinced me to buy all those Domo items! LOLHelpful 6Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Brandon N.Brooklyn, United States716Nov 24, 2014
This is definitely not the best Spencer's I've been to. The staff was not friendly. Selection was ok. I'll go back if I'm in the neighborhood but not worth going out of your way for.

This is your standard Spencer's and has good sales. My only complaint is that it always seems understaffed, so you have to wait around for quite a while before there is anyone free to get jewelry from one of the cases for you.

Workers were very friendly. They have really nice things that I hadn't seen in other places. They have a wide selection of pijamas decorated to be a carton or such. The shirts look hot. They have caps hats, bookbags, all gaming types. They have somethings that can be used for pranks. There are nice male wallets and female wallets too. They have a big section of nose and belly button rings as well as gagues. They is a nice selection of adult entertainment in the back, together with some adult books. There is also a beerglass section, from your huge mugs and boot to your shot glasses. Overall the store is very nice and the people working there are friendly. Recomendable. :)
