Servings are big. Food is delicious and authentic. My mom had the Pollo con Mole (its not on the menu but they have it). They serve the chicken thigh & leg with a very tasty mole sauce (so good), side of rice & beans and hand made tortillas. Super delicious.

I had the Pascado Relleno (Stuffed Fish). Its a full grilled Red Snapper, stuffed with shrimp and peppers topped in a very tasty sauce. Came with a side of black beans and Spanish rice. (Recommended)

Finished off the night with a Chocolate Flan. That is a must have if you go there and like Flan. Overall good experience, good service, excellent ambience including the decorations and music that was playing.

"Pollo con Mole" Not on the menu but ask for it. Its the bomb dot com.

Always on the lookout for good food in PS, three friend and I went to Casa de Frida the other night. Don't bother wasting your time and money. Service was poor, drinks were like rotgut and the food was tasteless. I had the mole and found it to be uninspired.

Frida would be furious and Diego would slim down if all he had to eat was food from Casa de Frida.

What do you get when you combine a love of the artist Frida Kahlo with creative and inspired Mexican cooking? The answer is the newly opened restaurant Casa De Frida, a fabulous experience in modern Mexican dining located in the heart of downtown Palm Springs.

The interior is modern and not cliche (no sombreros!). The decor is heavily influenced by the Mexican artist and icon Frida Kahlo. The food is an eclectic mix of regional Mexican and Latin cuisine.

Our table started with the ceviche appetizer which was served with fresh, hot and lightly salted chips. The ceviche was zesty and flavorful.

We then moved on to dinner and ordered the Enchiladas Maria and Chicken Adobo. The Enchiladas Maria were filled with shrimp and had an authentic red sauce with just enough kick. The food was beautifully plated and accompanied by rice and beans. The Spanish rice rivaled my mother's homemade rice and I could have eaten a large bowl (rumor has it that Casa de Frida also serves a cream rice made with sweet milk that is divine). I also devoured the black beans which were topped with Mexican cheese and melted in the mouth.

The Chicken Adobo had a stunning presentation with a bright red sauce and a generous portion. It smelled delicious (I don't eat meat but my dining partner said it was wonderful).

The prices are reasonable considering the style and substance of the restaurant (about $15 to $20 a plate). You get your money's worth.

Frida would be proud. The food is wonderful, the interior is beautiful and the atmosphere incredible. All in all, Casa de Frida is a lovely addition to the Palm Springs foodie scene.

Definitely try this new restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Unbelievably horrible! Run, Forrest, run, as far away and as fast as you can...

Two friends and I decided to try Casa de Frida over the weekend. What a mistake. The service was exceptionally poor and the food even worse. Our waiter was slow and rude. He didn't know the menu and placed two of the three orders incorrectly with the kitchen. He also misrepresented the dishes featured.

The food was virtually inedible. I had the Chile Colorado which is supposed to be one of Casa de Frida's specialties. The pork was dry as old shoe leather and the Colorado sauce was reminiscent of grease drippings flavored with some spices and herbs. I couldn't even eat the meal it was so bad.

The mole poblano was ordered and dismissed as a poor attempt at a true Mexican dish. Again, my pal didn't even eat his meal it was so disgusting. My other friend had the pozole which he said was not very good.

We all ordered drinks from the bar. If the bartender showed the margarita glasses the bottle of tequila I would be surprised. All three drinks were pretty watered down.

Very expensive for very little value. We left disappointed and hungry; we went to Burger King where I managed to get a decent meal.

Come in and have a look at the cool mosaic in the entryway and then high-tail it out of there if you want good service, tasty fair and drinks.
The staff needs training in customer service, the host nearly gave away our table because "he forgot" we were waiting. I wish he had. The waitress was no better. I ordered the Chicken Poblano--no flavor at all and the chicken was mushy. Black beans came on the side and had been obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for way too long. they had a crust on them. Overall a major disappointment. Do avoid.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. We took two of our friends out for their 30th Anniversary to Casa de Frida. First of all, the restaurant is wonderfully appointed with authentic decor. It is elegantly casual. We were greeted immediately upon entry. We decided to try a cocktail in the bar before dinner even though we were on time for our reservation we wanted to savor the evening. The Margueritas were terrific. I had the Casa de Frida Rita and was very pleased with the flavor. My only criticism is that it is served on a very heavy glass and I prefer a lighter weight glass for my drinks. The others in our party had, an Appletini (which was wonderful), a regular Marguerita, and a Virgin Mary. All were pleased.

We dined at a beautiful table and again were impressed with the decor and cleanliness of the restaurant. It was quite crowded that evening but everyone was having a great time. The hosts were going from table to table to check on everyone's happiness with the service and food.

All of us at our table were totally impressed not only with the presentation of the food we ordered but also the flavor. The soups were wonderful. I had the Enchiladas Swissas (fabulous) that were plated perfectly so my enchiladas would not merge with the beans and rice. One guest had a chili relleno which he really liked, another had the Barbacoa. Everyone remarked about how wonderful the food tasted. We picked up the tab for our guests which was quite reasonable given the high quality of the food.

This is the restaurant to go to if you want high quality not your everyday Mexican cuisine. In fact the flavors of Cuba and South America are prevalent in the spices. It's the perfect venue for a happy hour, a romantic evening out, or a dinner party with friends. I hope you'll try it. I will be back again!

Another amazing meal here. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Everything including the chips and salsa are made in house.

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu but I had the pork slow cooked in a banana leaf. The sauce it was mixed in was delicious.

The margarita was tasty and relatively strong.

All in all, I have been here twice and plan to eat here every time we visit PS.

Pescado Relleno. OMG. Best fish I have ever had in my whole life. This fish was DA BOMB. My friend got this and we all had our forks in her meal, poor girl. It was too good, we were shameless.

Definitely get the queso fundido too - made with real, delicious, cheese - no processed crap.

One star dock cause the service was S.L.O.W and my burrito wasn't great, but I was happy as a clam eating my friend's Pescado and would make a trip to this restaurant just for that dish, happily, anytime.

Wow what a surprise! We're locals, and have our regular spots. Some friends told us they had just discovered Frida's, and invited us for dinner tonight. We were floored.

I've driven by this place probably hundreds of times and had no idea it was here. The easiest way in is to enter off Indian Canyon near the iHop. There's tons of parking back there. Frida's faces Palm Canyon and is directly next door (south side) of Johnny Costa's.

The interior is bursting with color and Mexican folk artwork. Two HUGE Day of The Dead sculptures greet you at the front door. There's a separate bar area that has big comfy seats, and the main dining area is also colorful and filled with folk art pieces.

The menu is completely authentic. No Americanized tacos, or refried beans covered in scalding hot cheese that's burned to the plate. Frida's makes everything in house -- every sauce, hot fresh hand-made tortillas, even smashing fresh tomatoes, nothing comes out of a can.

We started out with some awesome Maragaritas, including a Tamarind flavored one, which was amazing. The guacamole has a bit of cheese crumbs on top, and the cool avocado flavors go well with Frida's spicy salsa.

Two of us had pork (carnitas), which were large chunks of pork with a light green chili sauce on top. The chicken with mole is out of this world -- the mole sauce is perfect. Everything we tried was cooked perfectly and had loads of flavor. And save room for the Flan desert. Its baked on top of a warm brownie, and we all could have eaten a second one!

Chef Victor comes out of the kitchen to greet every dining party. His vision for the Frida's is truly reflected in the menu. Not too many items, but all done really well. Its definitely worth discovering. A great new addition to Palm Springs.

Upscale Mexican restaurant. However they try to put a California twist on it. I love Mexican food --- but this isn't authentic. Just because atmosphere is upscale and they present it like a pretty package doesn't mean it's better. You pay for the presentation and the surroundings. Plus chips are extra! Service is spotty, and a bit unorganized however staff is friendly. If you want to shell out the bucks for designer Mexican food that's your business however the best is family run authentic in my opinion example La Perlita. Rather have just good authentic food. Frida is all dressed up and has no where to go. Also don't order drinks they water them down.

OUT OF BUSINESS- proved my point.
